LET'S GO FOR OUR GOALS!

                         LET'S GO FOR OUR GOALS!

Where do you stand with your annual goals for this year? Like the year, are you halfway towards completing most of your goals? Are you 60% or more complete with specific goals? Have you had to restart, refuel and regroup?   Contrary to popular belief, once you develop a proven method to assist you with completing your goals consistently and more quickly, you'll soon see that it can be applied towards goals in any area of your life. Physically, financially, spiritually, personally and professionally. Below are some techniques to help everyone stay on track:

  • Be 'Wise' With The Why' Of Your Goal: Your 'why' is the personal reason why you're reaching for your goals. It fuels the passion behind the force, ensuring you remain steadfast and focused. This is especially helpful should you begin to face challenges or setbacks in your overall vision. Keeping your 'why' in mind, will sustain you for the long haul.
  • Don't Tackle Too Many Goals at Once:  While it's good to have short term and long term goals, ensure you are not attempting to focus on all of your goals at once.  I've seen vision boards that have made me dizzy just looking at them! In reality, we're able to focus our attention on several things for a short duration of time. However, when we attempt to focus all of our energy and effort over a vast array of goals over a long period of time, we soon become the 'Jack of all trades and master of none' and our goals begin to slip away one by one. Rather than tackling many projects at once, give a laser focus on your top two to three goals  with a reasonable and feasible time-frame and work on achieving them wholeheartedly and completely. Once you've had success with your chosen method, you'll more easily be able to determine what works best for you and just as importantly, what may need changing, tweaking or eliminating altogether prior to focusing on your next set of goals.
  • Divide Goals Into Bite-Sized Chews: Yes, we eat an elephant one bite at a time and the same can be said about our goals. Remember not to bite off more than you can easily or comfortably chew. This keeps your goals from being too overwhelming to complete, and allows you some immediate success on your path as you forge ahead to complete goals that have been divided into your 'bite-sized-smaller steps.'   Focusing on what to do now--today, is a lot simpler and less stressful than wondering how the entire mechanism will come together. Keep the words of Martin L. King Jr. in mind: "You don't have to see the entire staircase, in order to take the first step."
  • From Visualization To Manifestation!  Visualization is a wonderful tool to assist you to keep your eye on the prize when going for your goals. But you must remember that like anything, it requires ACTION. Sitting around with beautiful vision boards, setting time aside to journal your thoughts or completing daily affirmations will not yield results. DOING is what DOES that! While these tools are a start and can certainly assist you, they cannot complete what you must ultimately do! Know that Knowledge is in the Knowing, but Wisdom is in the Doing!  So don't get lax in what your next steps should be... GET INTO ACTION MODE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS!  Ready, Set, Goals!

PUBLISH YOUR BOOK IN 30 DAYS!!

Have you thought of completing your dream of becoming a published author this year? Is it time to finally write your memoir? Do you have a desire to leave a legacy of family history for future generations? Maybe you have a message for the masses and a book would be the perfect vehicle to get you on that path?

Perhaps you’ve looked up agencies that offer manuscript writing services and were simply confused on the specific manuscript writing services you may need to complete your book?

Let’s face it, there is quite a bit of information one needs to know in order to realize their dream of becoming a published author. Whether you’re working with several different outlets or choosing different avenues to complete the task, it can be challenging to wade through the myriad of places that offer manuscript writing services and downright daunting to sift through them.

When it comes to cost for our manuscript writing services—STEPP Publishing can’t be beaten! While other publishing companies provide services that range from $15,000, $30,000, $40,000 and more…it’s no wonder many people have simply given up on their dream of becoming a published author. Along with the ‘hidden costs and fees,’ other publishers present you with, authors have to also pay their publisher for eternity—each time they order their book! This is not so with STEPP Publishing! As if that weren’t enough, many publishers request you order a minimum of books—usually enough to fill your basement or garage—for years to come.

This is not so with the manuscript writing services of STEPP Publishing. We are the only publisher that has ELIMINATED the additional cost for authors to order their books, and we do not have a minimum amount that must be ordered. So if your desire is to order only ten copies of your book, you’re able to do just that! There’s no longer a need to order more than you’re comfortable with, nor more than you’re willing—or able to order.

Finally, a publishing company that offers manuscript writing services with the newfound author in mind! No hidden costs or fees, no minimum number of books to order, and no more paying your publisher forever—each time you order copies of your book, simply for the ‘privilege of having worked with them!’ STEPP Publishing was created with YOU in mind!

Don't Encourage Your Children To Play 'I Spy'

Below is an excerpt from my book: "Seven Successful Strategies For Divorced Parents." Having worked as a Parenting Instructor for Michigan State Universities' 'Building Strong Families' program, I was able to assist parents, teachers and caregivers in positive ways to effectively communicate within the family structure.  This excerpt highlights some of the information from the chapter entitled: "Simple Solutions To Finding Common Ground." It refers to the time when parents are in the beginning stages of a possible separation or for parents that are aware that they are soon to be divorced. While couples are fixated on court dates and the splitting up of property as well as the emotional turmoil of the dissolution of a marriage, daily routines may be off schedule or sometimes, forgotten altogether. **This is the second of a 4-Part Excerpt.

  • Don't Encourage Your Children To Play 'I Spy' For You: It is natural to be inquisitive about your ex-partner, but it is not fair to ask your children about personal, adult issues in relation to your exes' affairs to satisfy that curiosity. There is noting wrong with casual conversation about how their time with the absent parent has been spent, such as the activities they've enjoyed or events they may have attended together, but questions about whom your Ex is seeing, what that person looks like, and what they're doing should not be addressed with your children. In relation to obtaining information on your exes' new partner, your goal is to ensure your children are treated well and with respect and are not brought into harms way. Beyond that, remind yourself that you are moving on with your life and you're allowing your ex-spouse/partner the freedom to do the same.

Should situations exist whereby your child may be dealing with or facing a form of abuse, be sure to take protective & preventative measures that will aid in ensuring the child's safety-before you act. We all have read about or have listened to news stories of how some parents, once being forewarned that measures are being put into place to investigate a matter, harms either themselves, the children, and in many cases, both, in an effort to stave off any interference. Take note if your outgoing, friendly child suddenly becomes withdrawn and quiet. review their different moods and how they react in certain situations. Talk with them often about how they are feeling and be in tune to their body language, as well as what they say and don't say. Because divorce in itself can seem devastating to children, these signs as well as others could simply be indicators that they may need professional assistance of some sort in handling the situation, but they could also be warning signs of some form of abuse taking place in the home or in their environment, in which case outside agencies would be better prepared to assist you in your quest to protect the safety of your children.

DON'T ALLOW CHILDREN TO 'CONQUER AND DIVIDE'

Below is an excerpt from my book: "Seven Successful Strategies For Divorced Parents." Having worked as a Parenting Instructor for Michigan State Universities 'Building Strong Families' program, I was able to assist parents, teachers and caregivers in positive ways to effectively communicate within the family structure. **This is the fourth and final of a 4-Part Excerpt.

Don't Allow Children to 'Conquer and Divide.'  While working as a Parenting Instructor through Michigan State Universities' 'Building Strong Families program, in some households where divorce had occurred, it was easy to see who was in control...the children were! Coming to the conclusion that they had the best of both worlds, kids simply threaten to spend more time with the parent that gave them their every desire without a fuss. In these scenarios, teens and pre-teens would choose the parent who least resisted their having a curfew, the parent that didn't monitor their friends or their activities, or simply were 'too busy to parent.'  We all know firsthand the results of these instances. Teens that begin to have truancy issues, problems in school, hanging out with other teens that are not monitored and possibly headed towards a path they may later regret. Remember that youth want and need structure...to a certain extent. (There's a difference between 'structuring' and 'smothering.') Be solidified with rules and regulations of each household. Just because dad may allow entertainment before homework is done... doesn't mean the same has to hold true for mom's household. (Or Vice-versa) Remind your child that each household has it's own rules on its' own merits and the rules and regulations established in your household pertain to your household, and will be maintained while they are there. In the interim, do not try to usurp or negate the rules of your exe's home. This will lead to a path of futility and unnecessary stress, and keeps families, especially children, experiencing conflict---guaranteed.

If possible, parents should attempt to have some basic guidelines that fit both households, such as maintaining responsibility for household chores being completed, a time-frame for all homework to be done or specific bedtime expectations so that children maintain a regular, consistent schedule in the areas that matter the most. In reality however, parents become so embroiled in not cooperating with one another, that they forget about the children and insist in 'running their household without any 'interference or input' from the absent parent--no matter how positive the suggestion may be. This usually means doing everything the opposite of what the other has established, creating unnecessary heartache and headaches for all involved. This may result in children feeling betrayed by their parents and confused as to why parents, who should be acting like responsible adults, refuse to put their best interests forward in developing simple solutions to everyday living arrangements.
